YOUTH BASKETBALL CLINICS

Each clinic will be coordinated by Jessica Griffin, a teacher at Pawling Elementary School. Jessica was a full-scholarship college basketball player. She was an Assistant coach for the Empire State team and has also been a
High School Varsity Coach.
Clinics will be held SATURDAYS JANUARY 9—MARCH 6, 2010
(No Basketball February 20th) and is open to boys and girls in grades k—6 and will take place at PAWLING ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.
Fee: $60/Members, $65/Residents, $70/Non-Residents

The clinics are developed to teach the fundamentals of basketball.
Depending on the age of the child, the more advanced drills will be taught. Children will learn how to work as a team, do individual drills, team drills, and most importantly have fun!
Small Shots I (Kindergarten-2nd Grade): This class will teach basic fundamentals of basketball. Included will be practice and games. Children will learn how to dribble, shoot, and pass. Space is limited to 30 kids per group.
*Kindergarten & First Grade: 9:15—10:00 am
*Second Grade: 10:30—11:15 am
Small Shots II (3rd and 4th Grade): This class will teach basic fundamentals of basketball. In this class there will be more skill oriented drills. Dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding, and defensive drills will be taught. Space is limited to 30 kids per group.
*3rd & 4th Grade Boys: 1:45—2:45 pm
*3rd & 4th Grade Girls: 3:00—4:00 pm
Big Shots (5th and 6th Grade): This will be a more advanced class. Emphasis will be on teaching skills needed for game situations including rules. Drills taught will be shooting, passing, dribbling, rebounding, and defense. There will also be inter-squad games played. Space is limited to 30 kids per group.
*5th & 6th Grade Boys: 12:30—1:30 pm
*5th & 6th Grade Girls: 11:15—12:15 pm

TEEN PROGRAMS
2009—2010 School Year
The Pawling Recreation Department runs an After School Club for Middle School Students throughout the school year. This program is staffed by a program supervisor over the age of 21, some college students and several high school students.
This is a great opportunity for kids to hang out with friends after school in a safe, fun, supervised atmosphere. Snack is provided. Games, crafts, activities and more are all available. For more information please call the Recreation Office at 855-1131.

After School Club Pass
Want to participate in the program but can’t make it every day?!
We have a pass available for $50 which is good for 20 visits to the After School Club. Come anytime that is convenient!
